Below are some interesting pieces to check out (tapping one of the bottom 3 will bring you to an art work section as well) and a statement about myself as an artist.
Tiffany Messina
“Eclectic Artistry”
While I had dabbled in the arts all through my life, I just recently began pursuing it seriously as an adult and began to explore art with a different view. Through my journey in experiencing and trying different art forms and mediums in pursuit of a bachelor’s in fine arts degree, I have begun taking legitimate first steps in gaining a foundation of experience as an artist.
Just like when many who are new to something, I find myself stuck between mediums and then stuck between ideas or in a rut. Even in times when there are no ideas, I may even follow that line and not think while making art or planning. It is in this unpredictable manner of enjoying adventure and exploration with concepts that hit me, I thrive, pairing a difficult or complex concept with this newly taught medium. Such as with the toilet series created, so far, on cardboard using paints, papers, pastels, and fibers which only came about after the merging of inspirations I had on my mind. These inspirations come about spontaneously and sporadically from my surrounding environment or from continuously developing ideas in my own head. Aside from that current fixation of a continued idea, I have also gone back and forth dabbling in making new pieces that stand on their own from passing inspiration. From creating polymer clay animal and monster figures, creating pieces of clothing, to crochet pieces, I begin to find my own style and preferred art forms. In this randomized pursuit of creating, for the sake of bringing that vision to life, that has continued to push me further in making my own art.
Despite being new to the arts, I believe there will continue to be inspiration that strikes me to create in another medium and push myself to expand my portfolio with a wide variety of pieces for a long time to come. With this new path I have begun to tread I soak up the experiences gained like a sponge, however big or little, finding my way.
As the two engage, it becomes a battle. The argument devolves, as if it were a fight between caged animals.
